In fact, I recall seeing an article in one of the Sport Compact mags that showed a new AP big brake kit placed on a 350Z that resulted in longer stopping distances, time after time, than the stock equipment. I believe they only had a limited amount of time to get it tuned right (brake balance and such), but the point remains: fade resistance and pedal feel are the main benefits here, not absolute stopping distance.
Besides, how many repeated stops from 90 are you doing off the track? ;-)
